The airlines have been onboard with serialized individual identification before the government through the use of ATA Spec 2000 markings. UID/ATA Spec means the ease of traceability, part availability, composition, supply chain collaboration, authentication of parts, and part identification. Businesses can place the code directly on the part where it can easily be identified with the proper scanning device and viewed globally.
Freedom Technologies has incorporated ATA Spec 2000 into their validation mobile software programs, on DPM readers. We are the only provider of both Commercial (ATA Spec 2000) and Military (UID) in the world that can provide a more efficient business environment.

Freedom Develops Complete UID Legacy Solution, for under $23,000.

The Dept. of Defense has mandated that inventory items over $5000 in value be permanently marked with a UID 2D code (Data Matrix). This is a daunting task encompassing millions of parts across the globe. Freedom Technologies has used their 15 years experience to produce an easy to implement and use “Legacy Kit” that includes all the hardware and software to facilitate this requirement across the military and other government agencies. This kit includes: Zebra 110 xiii printer, Freedom UID Legacy Software, Brand New Cognex Dataman 7500v Handheld Verification System, Motorola Handheld Mobile Computers with Freedom UID Legacy Solutions Software and Optional Configurations such as UID Marking Options and UID Reading Options.
The DoD asked us to design and implement one of the first mobile UID Legacy systems that will mark, verify, validate and submit to the registry at the Anniston Army Base in Alabama. Medical Error Proofing takes a step forward with MEDEPS©

Hospitals, clinics and laboratories are quick to take notice of the benefits MEDEPS© has to offer their facility. Facilities utilizing cryopreservation tanks are the latest to adopt the MEDEPS© Medical Error Proofing technology of cryopreservation tank mapping. Through mapping of the specimen tank inventory, facilities have the traceability, validation and accountability they need to ensure reduced risk of error. Additionally, MEDEPS© facilitates accounting systems by generating automated billing updates of the specimen’s location in the tank and sending it to the facility’s accounting system.
To support this initiative, Freedom Technologies has been steadily moving forward with outgrowths to cord blood, blood, bone marrow, stem cell research and transplant technology. Hospitals, labs and clinics had the opportunity to see the technology MEDEPS© has to offer at the Laboratory Products Show held in conjunction with Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY on May 24th. The show was a very positive experience for Freedom Technologies and MEDEPS© was very well received. Future plans include additional industry events such as the ASRM Annual Meeting this fall.

Positive Results from the QAD Explore Show

Freedom Technologies continues to lead the industry on the shop floor with the knowledge and ability to succeed at a rapid pace. Explore attendees were excited to learn that Freedom Technologies, in addition to providing accurate and timely data collection, currently offer interfaces to PLC’s, CNC’s, Vision Systems, Color Sensors and ‘birthmark’ traceability. Freedom’s booth displayed at the Explore Show was well received by our customers. The Andon board, interfaced to our demo production monitoring equipment, showcased how our current offerings surpass our competitors in the Error Proof industry. “Other companies claim capabilities by saying they ‘can do’ but at Freedom we ‘are doing’; by demonstrating our products and succeeding through our customers extensive use of Error Proof® in their everyday business,” commented Rick Scorey, President of Freedom Technologies.

Send Embedded Items to Registry:
Freedom Technologies’ Turn-Key Integrated® UID Validation module will enable you to send XML directly to the government, which will include not only the first level of the Parent Child (which is only what WAWF sends) but also all the embedded items automatically. This will allow you to be compensated more quickly.

UID Validation:
The information under the Validation tab tells the application how to validate barcode scans. The scans validation area shows what fields are required in the barcode for the different formats, e.g. the record selected below is for the 05 format and would require the 95 field, 8002 field and the 240 field to be in the barcode. If the barcode matched any of the lines in the Scan Validation then the barcode
The XML Schema Definition section displays the location of the .xsd file that the application uses to validate whether or not the data and format generated in the XML file meets the requirement for the submission to the UID Registry.

Export DEF:
The XML Output Definition shows the directory where the XML file will be created.

Do Export:
The Do Export tab enables the export of any of the scanned data that has not already been exported to a file. This section offers two export file formats: XML or Text. Each export type offers the option to Export End Item Scans and/or Export Embedded Item scans. Once an option is selected, the number of items that will be exported automatically populates in the Scans to the Exported field. To export the scans to file, click the Export XML or Export Text button.
